DATE NITE!


Well, Wednesday nite James and I had good tickets to see Bret Michaels in the Thorns and Roses Tour at the Northern Lights Theater at Potawatomi. I was planning on surprising him with tickets, but didnt want to spend decent money on something he was just joking about wanting to see. James was/is(?) a Poison fan as a kid in the 80's, and has seen him also up close at a concert in Waukesha a few years ago. Well, a while back he got me interested(not that I dont know who Poison is) by watching Rock of Love 1 and 2 as well as Rock of Love Bus. I was quite turned off at first, but such skanks...it was actually hilarious to watch....such stupidity and some really ugly chicks once all the make up came off!

 We started out with dinner at Bonefish Grill on Bluemound Rd. 2 Sangrias and 2 Lemon Drop Martinis went down nicely with our "bang bang" shrimp appetizer, mahi mahi and steak, scallop and shrimp dinner. It was all delicious!
We then headed down to Potawatomi Casino's Northern Lights Theater to see the Bret Michael's Band! We had very nice seats in Row C seats 3/4...table seating with waitress service...where we both put back a few beers each! (Yes, it is hard to believe but I drank on a weekday nite...alot...alot for me even on a weekend!! - I think James was even surprised!)

We had another nice couple to rock out with at our table. That made the nite even more enjoyable...had we been at the table with a bunch of non-rockers...sit on their butts all nite long it would have not been near as fun!

The concert was good. We had a blast! He started with Talk Dirty to Me (all of you guitar hero fans for sure know this one!) and of course Every Rose has its Thorn. I think I really only didn't know like 2 of the songs (his new ones...not with Poison) He sang Sweet Home Alabama and Knocking on Heavens Door, which greatly satisfied the Guns n Roses closet fan I am.

I have to say I was really surprised on how skinny Bret is. The TV does add at least 20lbs! Lots of people watching for sure! 2 Bret look alikes, lots of people looking like they never left the 80's...it was GREAT! Didn't see any superduper skanky chicks, like on the Rock of Love/Bus Shows that we watched.

We got back home Wednesday nite at around 1145! That is way late and way drunk for me on a Wednesday work nite!! Thankfully I don't feel too bad, but I bet it catches up with me later tonite!

We both really enjoyed our out of the ordinary date nite! Thank to Mom for watching the girls!



One last note...

I know one big question is "whats with the headband?!?"  well I found some interesting footage while on the internet....bret without hair.  I dont think he looks half bad.  But I dont mind a bald man!  I really wish men would go bald gracefully...it is so much a better look then a combover...if that isnt obvious!

Stitch Fix. I tried it.

Well I did it, finally.  I ordered my first Stitch Fix.  I have to say I am a bit disappointed and I was so excited and hopeful.  I did end up with a pair of jeans that I surprisingly like.  Length is long like I like and they are a dark wash.  Nice to have another pair to wear. (I have like 10 pairs, I wear one.)   I did tell MY STYLIST that I do not like short pants.  Too short and I will not wear.  She did take that into consideration and I was happy about that!   What I learned - I need to specify NO BLOUSES.  I do not wear them.  Becky told me they (Stitch Fix) likes blouses.  I do not.  Also, while the dress they sent me when I first looked at it was like UGH, but I tried it on and it was actually ok. But, I am not in the market for a dress right now. So it would hang in the closet. Just a note on the pictures.  I am sick with a nasty cold and really don't have a lot of energy to put much into this, plus its been a llllloooooooonnnggggg time since I last blog

Baby Back Ribs - the super easy way!

This turned out to be a super easy way to have delicious baby back ribs during the week.  Normally, I would never attempt anything like this during the week because it would usually be a meal that would require that I  drag out the grill to do.  In this cold - getting really old, Wisconsin winter, I do not want to deal with the grill.  That's James' deal, not mine and if we waited till he got home we wouldn't be eating til 9pm!  (that's bedtime, silly!) Carol's Baby Back Ribs  1 rack of baby back ribs, cut into 3-4 rib sections. Salt/Pepper/Paprika BBQ Sauce In your slow cooker (oh, yes...I did forget to mention it uses the trusty SC) spray the sides down with cooking spray.  Place the ribs in the SC and cook on Low 8-10 hours  (high for 5-6).  After the allowed time to cook, take out ribs and place in pan.  Slather with your favorite BBQ sauce and cook in 350 oven for 30 minutes.   Yup! Its that easy!  You could put a rub on the ribs of your liking

Hit the road James, Jenny, Jadyn and Jenna!

Well, if all went as planned we should be on the road by now.  I planned on going into work on Friday at 4 AM, and not take a lunch so I can be out and on my way home by Noon.  Hopefully on the road by 1:30 pm.   We are totally winging this first day/nights drive.  We were initially going to stop 1/2 way through Minnesota, but are plans have changed and we are going to see how its going and try to get to Souix Falls, SD instead.  Push it hard one day, take it easier the next days drive....   We are all super excited and hopefully I can come home with some awesome pictures and great memories!
