Happy Birthday Jadyn!

Image
As Jadyn said to us last nite, she is a whole hand now!   It actually makes me feel old to have a 5 year old!  How am I gonna feel when she is 15!!! It is amazing how these past 5 years have just flown by!  One of the smartest and luckiest things I have ever done in my life was to be blessed by her.  I dont remember what life was like before she came into my life! Not near as fun and silly I know that for sure!  She just has the sweetest (for the most part!) way about her.  She is such a great big sister too!   She was so excited to get to celebrate her birthday at school!  We bought cupcakes to bring in to school too. We will be headed off to Applebees for dinner tonite, because she said they sing to you on your birthday! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Jenna's Surgery at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin

Image
Jenna had her 2nd surgery on this past Wednesday.  The surgery allowed the Dr to explore the area and see what was really going on in there. (it is extremely hard to look in a baby's mouth when they are awake!) Dr Denny said to expect the worse and hope for the best.  We thankfully got the best!  Only one side of her gums/palate needed to be repaired.  The front, back and left side of her palate are fine!  The right side would cause problems in the future if not fixed.  So she only has stiches on that side. Because the surgery was not as extensive as first expected, she (we) also got to home the same day!  We were home around 415pm! It was a rough evening and nite, but we did finally get a smile and laugs out of her!  That was good to see!  Hardest part for her right now seems to be the sleeping.  She has to have the arm bands on 24/7 for 2 weeks.  But at 2 am Thursday morning when she woke up she wanted to eat...so she had Grahmn Cracker Mush and was happy after that...crawlin

What a beautiful day for the zoo!

Image
Early Sunday morning we packed up the kids, stopped and got Subway for lunch and headed off to the zoo!  Believe it or not James has not been to the zoo in over 15 years!  He has never went with us before!  I picked up the zoo pass at work for free parking and admission on Friday.  My place of employment does work on all animal cultures free of charge(community service) for the Milwaukee County Zoo and the use of the zoo pass is one benefit!   Black Bear Not only was it a beautiful day weather wise, but also the animals were out and about active and having fun!  Of all the times that I have been to the zoo, this time was the best that I can remember!  I got a ton of really nice pictures of the animals too!  Polar Bear African Elephants Playful Grizzly Bears (all 4 were out!) Stinky Cows!! Jadyn hates any icky smells! Cute lil' prarie dogs. We ended up being at the zoo from 10  - 3!  And everyone enjoyed themselves!  I am definatly going back to the zoo again in the spring!

Organ Donation Saves Lives

Image
There are currently 1,500 Wisconsin residents on a national transplant waiting list. Hundreds more wait for their sight to be restored through eye donation and thousands wait for the chance to live without pain through a bone or soft tissue transplant. Eighteen people will die today because they didn't get a transplant in time. Nationally, over 106,000 people are in need of a life-saving transplant -- enough people to fill two baseball stadiums. Without a national registry program in place, the lives of these individuals depend on the 40 state-specific registries currently in place. These registries are highly active and well supported -- for example, over half of Wisconsin drivers licenses currently display the "donor dot." However, donors' wishes are sometimes unknown, undocumented, or unable to be verified in the precious moments before a transplant is no longer viable. If a driver's license can't be located, or family members don't know the wishes o

DATE NITE!

Well, Wednesday nite James and I had good tickets to see Bret Michaels in the Thorns and Roses Tour at the Northern Lights Theater at Potawatomi. I was planning on surprising him with tickets, but didnt want to spend decent money on something he was just joking about wanting to see. James was/is(?) a Poison fan as a kid in the 80's, and has seen him also up close at a concert in Waukesha a few years ago. Well, a while back he got me interested(not that I dont know who Poison is) by watching Rock of Love 1 and 2 as well as Rock of Love Bus. I was quite turned off at first, but such skanks...it was actually hilarious to watch....such stupidity and some really ugly chicks once all the make up came off!  We started out with dinner at Bonefish Grill on Bluemound Rd. 2 Sangrias and 2 Lemon Drop Martinis went down nicely with our "bang bang" shrimp appetizer, mahi mahi and steak, scallop and shrimp dinner. It was all delicious! We then headed down to Potawatomi Casino's No
