Slow Cooker Chicken Salsa

Once again I just finished eating yet another delish recipe that I adapted from a recipe found via pinterest.  http://millerfamilyorganizer.blogspot.com/2012/02/slow-cooker-salsa-chicken.html . I have said recipes are easy before(and some might disagree to what I find to be easy) but this recipe could not be easier…seriously!   Made with staples in my house(always a good thing) and it was mighty tastey if I do say so! Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (frozen is fine) 1 cup salsa 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup 1 packet taco seasoning 1 cup sour cream 6 tortillas Place chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker. Sprinkle taco seasoning on chicken. In a bowl, combine soup and salsa. Pour over chicken. Cook on low 6-8 hours.(High for 4 hrs) Shred chicken with two forks and stir in sour cream. Serve on tortillas with cheese and other desired toppings.

Favorite Things : Sweet Almond Oil Sugar Scrub

I have to say that sugar scrubs are my newest favorite thing!  I got one from Bath and Body Works at Christmas time from my Godson, Jake. I also got a Burts Bee’s sugar scrub from St. Nick this year!  I LOVE them so much I started making my own once the other ones ran out!  I already had the oil and essential oils from a previous essential oil phase I went through(believe me I still love essential oils, but I am not so into making my own shampoos and stuff right now).  You need a small plastic container to store the scrub once its made. I suggest plastic, because you will be using this in the bath room and it can get slippery and the last thing you would want is glass shards everywhere and a bare body and toes! I really never measure the stuff before but I suggest the following: Mix equal parts Sweet Almond Oil (any oil…even olive oil works but I not fond of the smell.) Almond oil is lighter and absorbs fast ) and regular everyday sugar.  Mix well.  If you have essential oils(my

No Bake Cherry Cheesepie

I, once again, got another recipe via Pinterest that looked mighty good. Easy too.  It was called No Bake Raspberry-Lemon Cheesecake from the site MyBakingAddiction.com . Well, by the time I got home from work I had concocted a slightly different version of the one I was gonna make.  Mine is more like the Jell-O No-Bake Cheesecake you can buy in the store. I figured Jimmy would love it….since he really really likes cherries and I have to admit loves the Jell-O No-Bake Cheesecake. (its not bad.) So here it is: For the crust: 1  1/2 cups of crushed graham crackers 3 tbsp. sugar 4 tbsp. melted butter. Mix all together and press into bottom of a pie plate. For the filling: 2/3 cup sugar zest of 1 lemon along with juice of 1/2 lemon 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1 tsp. vanilla extract 8 oz. Cool Whip 1 can of pie cherries Mix all but the cherries together and put over the graham cracker crust.  Top with cherries and refrigerate for 2 or so hours .       Mmm…looks good…

Turkey by Chef Jimmy

Image
I always buy a turkey at Thanksgiving time because they are usually on sale for a good price.  Freeze it and make it some time later(before summer because I don’t think  turkey is really a summer food) but not to close to Thanksgiving.  March sounded like a good time to have turkey!  I had to work and asked Chef Jimmy if he would put a turkey in the oven on Sunday.  He was o.k. with the idea, as long as he didn’t have to baste it.  Yeah, no we don’t do that.  Instead I found a recipe called Mom's Roast Turkey from the site SimplyRecipes . It’s your basic oven roasted turkey recipe EXCEPT that you cook the bird breast side down.  According the the side it would result in a moist not dried out turkey.  Well, it did not disappoint.  Chef Jimmy cooked us a delish turkey dinner of mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn and turkey.  (we forgot good rolls ..boo hoo) .  He did great on his first turkey!  Try it out next time you have a turkey to cook.  We have LOTS of leftovers, but that is

Crockstar Beef Stroganoff

Here is a new recipe I made while at work on Wednesday.  It was very good and very easy.  The number of ingrediants is very little. I love my Crock Pot! 2lbs stew meat 2 cans of Golden Mushroom soup 1 onion, diced 1/2 cup water 1 clove of garlic, minced Dash or two of hot sauce (this does not by any means make it hot…I didn’t even notice it!) 2-3 tbsp of Worchestire Sauce 8 oz. of sliced fresh mushrooms 8 oz. of cream cheese (I used the lower fat kind and it worked just fine) Egg noodles, or rice or bread (for a Beefy Truckers Special) Mix everything but the cream cheese together  in a slowcooker.  Cook on Low 8 hrs.  30 min before eating, stir in cubed cream cheese (this takes a while to melt and I did help it along by smooshing some of the unmelted chunks. – but I don’t know about you but chunks of cream cheese are good in just about anything!) Serve over noodles, rice or buttered bread(above referenced Truckers Special) Pretty Tasty if I do say so myself! I even thou
