Happy Birthday To Me!

When I got home from work on Friday, I was completely surprised to see flowers in a box on my porch...couldn't imagine who they would be from! 
They were from Jacob, my godson!  How nice. I made sure I called and thanked him!! They are gorgeous! 

For my birthday we went to La Merenda for dinner (a tapas restaurant). We had been there before 2 years ago for our anniversary and enjoyed it so we decided to go back.(which is kinda against our date nite rules!!!)  I broke the rules when I took the picture of the two of us above, because it was at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts before the musical Wicked!  Got yelled at...but whatever!

We had great seats, Row N Seats 9/10.  It was a great performance.

Saturday, my entire family 14 of us in all, went to the Brewers game.  We tailgated and had seats in Section 222.  It was awesome because the first hit of the nite, (first batter too) being Ricky Weeks - resulted in an in the park home run!  It was a great way to start the game!!!    GO RICKY WEEKS!  (Jadyn's favorite player!)  Jenna did really well at her first Brewers game!   Thanks mostly to her cousins Brooke and Mackenzie, who are at her side constantly!  She did take a hard hard hit though from some big pissy kid in the play area on the 400 level, but after she stopped crying (she usually is very tough..and if she crys you know its bad)  she wanted to go back and play and she did so with Brooke and Mackenzie by her side!


Both girls fell asleep in the car (Jenna I think did before we even got out the the parking lot!)  I think everyone really had a nice time!


I had to add this picture of bottle of wine.  Nicole brought it to the game...I love the name of it!

Stitch Fix. I tried it.

Well I did it, finally.  I ordered my first Stitch Fix.  I have to say I am a bit disappointed and I was so excited and hopeful.  I did end up with a pair of jeans that I surprisingly like.  Length is long like I like and they are a dark wash.  Nice to have another pair to wear. (I have like 10 pairs, I wear one.)   I did tell MY STYLIST that I do not like short pants.  Too short and I will not wear.  She did take that into consideration and I was happy about that!   What I learned - I need to specify NO BLOUSES.  I do not wear them.  Becky told me they (Stitch Fix) likes blouses.  I do not.  Also, while the dress they sent me when I first looked at it was like UGH, but I tried it on and it was actually ok. But, I am not in the market for a dress right now. So it would hang in the closet. Just a note on the pictures.  I am sick with a nasty cold and really don't have a lot of energy to put much into this, plus its been a llllloooooooonnnggggg time since I last blog

Baby Back Ribs - the super easy way!

This turned out to be a super easy way to have delicious baby back ribs during the week.  Normally, I would never attempt anything like this during the week because it would usually be a meal that would require that I  drag out the grill to do.  In this cold - getting really old, Wisconsin winter, I do not want to deal with the grill.  That's James' deal, not mine and if we waited till he got home we wouldn't be eating til 9pm!  (that's bedtime, silly!) Carol's Baby Back Ribs  1 rack of baby back ribs, cut into 3-4 rib sections. Salt/Pepper/Paprika BBQ Sauce In your slow cooker (oh, yes...I did forget to mention it uses the trusty SC) spray the sides down with cooking spray.  Place the ribs in the SC and cook on Low 8-10 hours  (high for 5-6).  After the allowed time to cook, take out ribs and place in pan.  Slather with your favorite BBQ sauce and cook in 350 oven for 30 minutes.   Yup! Its that easy!  You could put a rub on the ribs of your liking

Hit the road James, Jenny, Jadyn and Jenna!

Well, if all went as planned we should be on the road by now.  I planned on going into work on Friday at 4 AM, and not take a lunch so I can be out and on my way home by Noon.  Hopefully on the road by 1:30 pm.   We are totally winging this first day/nights drive.  We were initially going to stop 1/2 way through Minnesota, but are plans have changed and we are going to see how its going and try to get to Souix Falls, SD instead.  Push it hard one day, take it easier the next days drive....   We are all super excited and hopefully I can come home with some awesome pictures and great memories!
