Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend.  Well Friday we started out by hitting a local place called Sweetie Pies for fish.  It had been noted in the Journal awhile ago about how good the fish was.  We agreed.

Saturday I took the girls grocery shopping and James went and got his tire(he had a flat on Tuesday nite) taken care of (thankfully the tire was surprisingly under warranty and it was replaced FREE!!) and then got his Dad's truck and got 1 1/2 yards of mulch.  Well, next year we will have to remember we only need 1 yard!  We ended up putting 2 1/2 wheel barrels in the back of our lot, cause we didnt know where to go with it all!  It was hot and hard work, but I am glad it is done.  I am guessing James is too, because now I can stop nagging him about it!  Don't worry, I will find something else!  That evening we drove out to Hwy 18 and 89 in Jefferson, to the Hwy 18 Drive-in and saw the newest Shrek movie!  Jadyn loved it! Jenna was a bit difficult....but all and all it was fun.  Last time we were at a drive in was in Door County on our Honeymoon.

Sunday we headed back to Sweetie Pies, but this time for breakfast! It was yummy as well!  After Jenna's nap we had a cookout at my Mom's place with all my bros and their families.  It was a good time with good food.

Monday we headed over to his parents house for a cookout as well where we got to see baby Jorja again!  I am glad they came and got out the house for a bit!  We had good food and good company there as well. 

And here I am now, blogging away...happily knowing I still have 7 more days of vaca left!  Not doing much, mostly cause J is still in school, but I have a list of things that I hope to at least scratch a few things off!

2 of my recent additions to my favorite things.  First I will tell you about this product I came to know and actually is perfect for the dry skin our winters cause us to have.   SheaMoisture brand products This stuff in particular is what I am using now.  I use it daily as a facial moisturizer. It is sooo thick I store it upside down and have to take the cap off to squeeze any of it out.  It absorbs quickly and it has oats, aloe and Vitamin E in it to calm skin.  It has a pleasant smell...not too perfumey.  I also have a nice Olive and Green Tea body wash that I am using too. Baby Back Ribs - the super easy way!

This turned out to be a super easy way to have delicious baby back ribs during the week.  Normally, I would never attempt anything like this during the week because it would usually be a meal that would require that I  drag out the grill to do.  In this cold - getting really old, Wisconsin winter, I do not want to deal with the grill.  That's James' deal, not mine and if we waited till he got home we wouldn't be eating til 9pm!  (that's bedtime, silly!) Carol's Baby Back Ribs  1 rack of baby back ribs, cut into 3-4 rib sections. Salt/Pepper/Paprika BBQ Sauce In your slow cooker (oh, yes...I did forget to mention it uses the trusty SC) spray the sides down with cooking spray.  Place the ribs in the SC and cook on Low 8-10 hours  (high for 5-6).  After the allowed time to cook, take out ribs and place in pan.  Slather with your favorite BBQ sauce and cook in 350 oven for 30 minutes.   Yup! Stitch Fix. I tried it.

Well I did it, finally.  I ordered my first Stitch Fix.  I have to say I am a bit disappointed and I was so excited and hopeful.  I did end up with a pair of jeans that I surprisingly like.  Length is long like I like and they are a dark wash.  Nice to have another pair to wear. (I have like 10 pairs, I wear one.)   I did tell MY STYLIST that I do not like short pants.  Too short and I will not wear.  She did take that into consideration and I was happy about that!   What I learned - I need to specify NO BLOUSES.  I do not wear them.  Becky told me they (Stitch Fix) likes blouses.  I do not.  Also, while the dress they sent me when I first looked at it was like UGH, but I tried it on and it was actually ok. But, I am not in the market for a dress right now. So it would hang in the closet. Just a note on the pictures.  I am sick with a nasty cold and really don't have...
