Jenny's Journey

Yup, I am gonna brag.  Whether its bragging worthy, I don't really care cause to me it is!  As all of my followers already know(because I texted you) I did my first 5K on Sunday, Mothers Day.  It is a yearly race that happens every year on Mothers Day(in numerous locations throughout the USA) and it is called Run Like A Mother 5K.  It was pretty neat because the run occurred over at Hoyt Park/Menomonee River Parkway/Oak Leaf Trail - where I hung out a ton as a kid, so it was really nice to be back. I picked up running last summer/fall and I really am enjoying it.  It is 40 min of "me time."  And funny thing is none of my kids ask to tag along or help or anything (even though I can see Jadyn doing track and cross country in her future).  Well, running a 5K was on my bucket list and Emmy at work told me about this very run.  It brings in all types of runners and ages and abilities. Perfect.  Plus the route is pretty easy (no hills!)...

Well, Wednesday nite James and I had good tickets to see Bret Michaels in the Thorns and Roses Tour at the Northern Lights Theater at Potawatomi. I was planning on surprising him with tickets, but didnt want to spend decent money on something he was just joking about wanting to see. James was/is(?) a Poison fan as a kid in the 80's, and has seen him also up close at a concert in Waukesha a few years ago. Well, a while back he got me interested(not that I dont know who Poison is) by watching Rock of Love 1 and 2 as well as Rock of Love Bus. I was quite turned off at first, but such skanks...it was actually hilarious to watch....such stupidity and some really ugly chicks once all the make up came off!  We started out with dinner at Bonefish Grill on Bluemound Rd. 2 Sangrias and 2 Lemon Drop Martinis went down nicely with our "bang bang" shrimp appetizer, mahi mahi and steak, scallop and shrimp dinner. I think I was out with my girlfriends not too long ago and mentioned my cat shoes for some reason....they told me they had never seen them.  While I dont wear them much I do like them! They are a bit klunky...like Doc Martens.  I first saw them on a lady giving me a massage, while laying on my stomach with my head looking down at the floor! I thought they were sooo cute the second I got home I found the on the internet and purchased them!  They actually had all different kinds of animals and designs!

Along with having Jenna's 9 month pictures taken I thought it would be a great opportunity to have James' 3 girls picture taken to give to Daddy for a Valentines Day gift!  I am very happy with the results. Make sure you dont tell him.  He doesnt read my blog, so no worries there!!! I am really happy with the way everyone looks!  (I was most concerned about me though!!! - If I didnt look decent we weren't buying any!!!)

Well I am here.  I got to San Diego around 6:00pm (8:00 in WI) without any problems, unless you count the having to use the airplane restroom twice!  I knew better then to have a coffee before getting on that plane...plus my nerves of flying by myself didnt help either! I am sick of sitting around so I actually am gonna head over to the fitness center here at the hotel and move my body a bit!  I get to sleep til 6 tommorrow!  Believe it or not that is sleeping in! I actually sat by a man on the plane(a hospital administrator) that said to me "so you are a Med Tech?"  I flipped.  No one ever knows what a Med Tech is!  I usually just nod and say "Yes" when someone asks me if I am a nurse! Anyways....

One of my favorite places to easily spend my time is Penzey's.  If you have never been there, you should go.  Quality spices, herbs, and seasonings.  One of the things that I really like about the store is that every single thing that is sold there has a jar filled with the product for you to smell.(I guess you could sample it but that would just be gross!!!)  I purchased something called Sate today, because I thought it smelled good(now I just have to find a recipe for it!) I also purchased their Florida Lemon Pepper.  I have had that before and it is great on fish!  Since James doesnt read my blog, and I know none of you will tell him....I bought him a Christmas gift from there today.  I bought the Taco Gift Pack....Original, Bold, Chicken and Rojo Seasonings.  Really it is a gift for the both of us, but I can say it is for him!!!  I wouldnt mind getting a gift certificate for Penzeys for Christmas, or a subscription to their magazine....

Kim has been on my case to update my blog, but I dont have much to say.  I have been really busy this last week and into the upcoming one too, because I am a deer hunters wife.  A good one at that too!  James has been gone since October 30th and plans on coming back November 13th(only because I have to work that weekend...and I figure 2 weeks is enough!)  I think he owes me...what do you think?   Anyways, so I have been away from my computer this last week because my time is limited, I have been super tired(going to bed the second the girls go to bed....or even falling asleep in Jadyn's bed after story time!!!), and I really dont have much to say!

Anyone who knows me well enough, knows that I suffer from allergies..to mostly everything nature or animal! Dust, trees, leaves, cats, dogs, grass....I swear the list goes on and on. Anyways, these last couple days I have been itchy ALL OVER my body! I have been taking a daily Zyrtec and morning shower(I should be doing this anyways!) and even washed my bedding(it was due anyways) to help combat the itchies. I checked an allergy website www.pollen.com and it said that it was going to be a Med to Med/High week of allergies. So, I dont know if any of you are having this issue, but I basically want to itch my skin off and dig out my eyes!!! I swear even my earlobes are itching right now!!! HELP!
